About

I am a printmaker, designer and dharma practitioner and teacher, living on Djaara Country in central Victoria. Of Scottish and English descent, I was born and grew up on Tyerrernotepanner Country in northern Tasmania.

Life for me has consistently circled around the creative and the contemplative, and as time passes, I find these two domains weaving together more naturally, informing each other more profoundly. They have provided a framework for my engagement as a designer of sustainable homes, artist/printmaker, meditator, and authorised teacher of Insight Dharma and meditation.

What does it mean to be human on Earth at this particular time? How do we relate to ourselves, to those in our lives, and to the natural world? How do our perceptions and views affect these relationships, and therefore determine the world we experience moment-to-moment? I explore the nuances of these questions through personal contemplative practice, teaching dharma retreats and yatras (meditation pilgrimages in nature), and in my printmaking practice.

I have been practicing and studying meditation for 30 years, predominantly in the Mahasi lineage of Theravadan Buddhism, with experience in yoga, Mahayana and Vajrayana practices. My principal teachers and mentors are Patrick Kearney and Carol Perry. I facilitated sitting groups and managed retreats for many years, and was EO of Melbourne Insight Meditation for three years.

Since being authorised in 2015 to teach by senior Insight Meditation teachers, I have led one-day and multi-day retreats, women’s circles, dharma yatras and online meditation courses. I graduated from IMI’s four-year Insight Dharma Teacher pathway in 2024.

I am currently the guiding teacher for Goldfields Insight Meditation in central Victoria, and a committee member of Melbourne Insight Meditation.
